Dr. Zsófia Fajd-Gellei
Companion Animal Veterinarian | Specialist in alternative veterinary therapies
Owner of “Clinic to the Whispering Vet”
Dr. Zsófia Fajd-Gellei is a small animal veterinarian and certified specialist in alternative therapies. She runs her own clinic in Szentkirályszabadja, on the northern shore of Lake Balaton, where she provides care for dogs and cats in a calm, stress-free environment. She is committed to using natural, chemical-free treatment methods that support both the physical and emotional well-being of her patients. The name of her practice, “Clinic to the Whispering Vet,” reflects her gentle, empathetic, and patient-centered approach to animal care.
“I graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine in 2008, and for the past three years I’ve been working in my own clinic in Szentkirályszabadja. I’ve always been drawn to natural, as chemical-free as possible healing methods. Just as I prefer using herbs and homeopathy for my children instead of antibiotics whenever possible, I also aim to apply these approaches in veterinary care. To support this, I completed postgraduate studies in “Complementary and Alternative Veterinary Therapies” at the University of Veterinary Medicine. A central aim of this training was to fight antimicrobial resistance by replacing antibiotics with natural, non-resistant solutions that support the body’s self-healing and immunity. My thesis focused on 'The openness of dog owners and trainers to alternative therapies in behavioural problems.'
The name of my clinic, “Clinic to the Whispering Vet”, carries meaning: I wanted to express my friendly, gentle, and restraint-free attitude toward healing and caring for animals. It resembles the name of a cozy inn, where guests are welcomed with warmth and hospitality. In addition to gentle and patient care practices, I regularly use homeopathy, herbal medicine, Ayurveda, and acupuncture in my veterinary treatments.
My goal is for dogs to enter wagging their tails and leave with good experiences, free of the fear and anxiety often associated with visiting a vet. This requires time and patience before, during, and after each treatment — appointments can’t be rushed like on a production line, because that leaves no room for a truly stress-free healing environment.
Among Ayurvedic herbal remedies, I’ve had especially positive experiences with Livjivan liver-protective digestive drops, Newcharm wound-healing gel, Charmaid capsules for allergies, and Diaroak powder, which has proven highly effective in treating diarrhea in dogs. I know how and when to use these products for the best results in dogs and cats, what conditions they are most suited to treat, and how to combine them with other alternative or conventional treatments for long-term healing.”
