MASTILEP gel is a novel approach to help control mastitis by improving udder immunity through strengthening the keratinous layer of the teat canal lumen, and enhancing the udder's defence mechanism. MASTILEP is a non-antibiotic polyherbal gel for topical application to the udder and teats for the prevention and treatment of mastitis. It acts as a non-irritating protective emollient, controls microbes and ensures hygiene, health and productivity of the mammary gland when applied at different stages of lactation.
INDICATIONS:
- In lactating cows, goats, and sheep, it can be used as a standalone treatment for subclinical mastitis with somatic cell counts up to approximately 500,000.
- For somatic cell counts above 500,000, it helps significantly reduce the number of recovery days when used as a supplement to antibiotic treatment.
- It contributes to maintaining and restoring udder health and improving milk quality.
MECHANISMS OF ACTION:
- It has a cooling, exfoliating and anti-inflammatory effect.
- It has antihistamine effects (thanks to its eucalyptus and turmeric content).
- The compounds found in turmeric, licorice root, and Himalayan cedar effectively modulate the activity of anti-inflammatory cytokines, thereby supporting the immune response in cases of inflammation of bacterial origin.
- It increases the activity of phagocytic cells.
- It helps maintain and restore the health of the udder and teats, improves milk quality, and helps restore milk yield.
- It does not damage the udder’s keratin layer and is non-irritating. It protects, soothes, and softens the skin of the udder.
- It helps maintain mammary gland hygiene.
