AFANIL has been formulated with potent herbs for the supplementary treatment of frothy bloat (meteorism) in cattle, buffalo, sheep and goats. AFANIL emulsion contains herbal extracts and carminative essential oils for a fast and targeted action.
ABOUT BLOAT:
Frothy bloat is one of the most significant digestive disorders affecting ruminants (especially feedlot and milking cattle), often resulting in major production losses and mortality. In cases of frothy bloat (characterized by foam formation in the rumen), high protein content in the feed and the proliferation of slime-producing bacteria lead to increased gas production in the rumen and reticulum. Soluble proteins, saponins, and hemicelluloses surround gas bubbles, forming a stable foam. This prevents the coalescence of bubbles, thus inhibiting gas release through eructation. As a result, pressure increases in the rumen and reticulum, breathing becomes difficult, and the internal environment of the rumen is altered. Rumen pH drops, microbial activity and population decline, and the rumen may become atonic (inactive).
Treatment of frothy bloat typically involves the oral administration of defoaming and carminative preparations.
MODE OF ACTION:
• AFANIL restores normal rumen function in cases of frothy bloat.
• It reduces the presence and proliferation of slime-producing bacteria responsible for the viscous, frothy rumen content and bloating.
• It exhibits defoaming, stomachic (digestive stimulant), and carminative (gas-relieving) effects.
